PRISM Overview
Optum Financial Health Benefits Accounts where we have Optum Financial is driving all platforms toward a domain driven structure with high availability in the cloud, which in turn, will reduce redundancy and ease of access to data for all platforms and organizations across Optum Technology. Currently, data resides in multiple platforms and databases throughout Optum Financial Health Benefits Accounts where we have Optum Financial. This presents the possibility of data redundancy, as well as platform specific language and descriptions, creating challenges in migration efforts as we move toward a single unified portal.
Client Domain
Client Domain would provide a single source of truth for all financial platforms and reduce this redundancy while providing a single client identifier and a consolidated location or client data.. Moving data to a cloud platform reduces the expense and maintenance of multiple databases through auto patching provided by the platform.
Person Domain
Person Domain would provide a single source of truth for all financial platforms and reduce this redundancy while providing a single person identifier and a consolidated “person record” through integration with IMDM. Card Domain
Optum Financial Health Benefits accounts is driving all platforms toward a domain driven structure with high availability in the cloud and reducing the PCI footprint. Card Domain would allow us to maintain all PCI data within a single platform and ensure use of standard practices across all card products. This creates near real-time processing and settlement via RESTful APIs with a single card processor which enables Optum Financial to become the source of record for account balance and maintenance. The platform will integrate with card capabilities to provide the member with an enhanced experience, through, stacked card functionality, account portability, mail tracking, and digital accessibility.
Bank Domain
Optum Bank provides FDIC insured, Utah Chartered demand deposit accounts, including health savings accounts and wealth management accounts. The ‘Bank Domain’ serves as the regulated entity for record keeping, tax reporting, transaction settlement and reconciliation system for these accounts and all associated transactions. Additionally this domain facilitates all interactions with the Fed including Wire, ACH and check payments for DDAs and other businesses within UHG. The Optum Bank Platform provides various domain & application services to support core banking capabilities such as bill payment, consumer identity, account receivable, liquidity and credit and lending management capabilities.

The document domain will be developed to provide access to member and HR portal documents through a centralized file system. The new document domain will support the various document locations that exist today, consolidating access through a single location. The benefit of using this approach is that enables better management of documents through versioning/updates each year.

The FINS platform will enable files to move seamlessly across domains and platforms. Data adapters will be employed to ensure client data is delivered timely and accurately. This will help realize more efficient internal processing of client data while creating a more client centric experience.

Invoice Domain
Today the HBA accounts are billed through multiple different systems. There is a need to collapse the billing platforms to streamline processes for internal teams which will lead to better quality and controls of the billing processes. Unifying the HBA business through PRISM and the updated billing platform (PeopleSoft) we will also be able to streamline client billing so that they're not billed through independent process/invoices based on the products they have with us, or the platforms they're on.
